What working group do you belong to? What is its function?
Profile T working group. The function of the working group was to develop a new streaming profile to eventually succeed Profile S.

How long have you been a member?
I have been a member and chairman of the Profile T working group since it was formed three years ago.

When/why was the group formed? What is the importance?
The working group was formed on September 15th, 2015 at the Montreal committee meetings. The purpose of the working group is to develop a new streaming profile to succeed Profile S, which covers additional use-cases that was identified as crucial to the industry for the next 5 years by ONVIF member companies. These use cases were identified in two workshops prior to the forming of the working group in the first half of 2015.

Favorite/most relevant discovery made as a result of the working group?
I was happy to see the great level of collaboration between competitors that made the working group a success. All work is done on a volunteer basis and individuals have really stepped to the challenge of getting prototype implementations done in time to be able to launch the profile in October 2018.

What is the group currently working on?
Now that we have launched Profile T, we are basically done, except for verifying the last couple of tickets related to Profile T.

Future plans?
The working group will be closed in December 2018
