ONVIF officially kicked off a busy 2023 meeting schedule with its first face-to-face gathering in mid-March in tropical Singapore. The three-day All Committee Meetings brought together representatives from around the globe to participate in individual committee and working group meetings as well as joint sessions for coordination and strategy on both ongoing and new initiatives within the organization.
Hot topics included the development of new educational materials designed to help systems integrators, end users and manufacturers deepen their understanding of ONVIF profiles and specifications. Committee chairs also provided updates about the upcoming release of the first ONVIF Add-on, a concept designed to speed the process of bringing additional interoperability to market, as well as continued refinements to the Device and Client Test Tools and the conformant product submission process.
Capping off the meeting’s first day was a roundtable forum with a small group of Singapore-based integrators and distributors, who shared their insights on working with ONVIF profiles and conformant products. This is the second such discussion hosted by ONVIF with integrators and end users from different areas of the world, with the first session held in November 2022 at the ONVIF All Committee meetings in Casablanca, Morocco.
Many thanks to all ONVIF member company representatives serving on the Steering, Technical, Technical Services and Communication committees and working groups who attended the meetings and social events. We look forward to seeing you again in September at the next All Committee meetings in Croatia.
Are you an ONVIF member company and interested in joining us in September? Participation in All Committee meetings is open to full and contributing member companies. More information can be found here on onvif.org.
