ONVIF is excited to be back to ISC West next week to talk more about interoperability (our favorite topic!), the importance of open standards and freedom of choice these provide for end users, systems integrators and consultants. The benefits of interoperability are present in every technology area that our industry is working in today, including the current transition to cloud systems.
This transition is the central theme of an important panel discussion, “Defining the Cloud: Are Standards the Answer?”, to be held at 10am on Tuesday, April 9 in Venetian 308 at the Venetian Expo. ONVIF Chairman Leo Levit will be among the panelists that will explore many relevant cloud topics, such as clarifying the definitions of cloud and cloud services, the benefits and drawbacks of cloud adoption and the differences between proprietary and open standards-based approaches to cloud. Other expert panelists include representatives from Cherokee Nation Entertainment, Wachter, Novaira Insights and Pelican Zero.
At ONVIF booth L0, you’ll get a chance to test your knowledge of ONVIF profiles, historical milestones, membership information and other fun facts about ONVIF in our interactive trivia game. If you’re an expert on the number of ONVIF Profiles (is it 6, 7, 10 or 17?) or how many conformant products in the ONVIF conformant products list (28,000, 280,000 or 2800?), stop by the ONVIF booth L0. Play to get your name on the leaderboard and win an iPad or other prizes for your ONVIF expertise.
ONVIF representatives will also be on hand to answer any questions about our profiles, membership benefits, opportunities for contribution and participation in our standardization work and more.
We hope to see you there!
