As technology advancements continue at breakneck speed, it’s never been more important to take advantage of opportunities for continuing education. To that end, ONVIF is unveiling a new online learning initiative designed to offer knowledge about many different aspects of ONVIF. 

The first e-learning course, “Introduction to ONVIF”, offers a comprehensive overview of how the organization and its standardized interfaces work for the interoperability of IP-based physical security products and services. 

The interactive course educates users on the ONVIF mission and organization, the benefits of ONVIF standards, what ONVIF profiles and add-ons are and practical applications for both, and the importance of the conformance process. The e-learning course is free of charge and is available to anyone interested in learning more about ONVIF. 

Manufacturers can expect to learn about how the ONVIF profiles can be relevant to different customer requirements and how to implement ONVIF conformance strategies to ensure interoperability. For systems integrators and consultants, the course will enable them to recommend and integrate ONVIF conformant products to enhance the interoperability of security systems and be able to select the appropriate profile or profiles that align with their specific customer’s needs.  End users will be able to recognize the advantages of incorporating ONVIF conformant products in their security systems, how to utilize ONVIF conformant products to improve interoperability of the security system and ensure that the selected products support the most suitable ONVIF profile based on their security needs.

ONVIF member companies can also access the e-learning course for use on their internal learning management platforms to provide this information to their staff and customer base.
