• What does your company do? What services, or products, do you provide?
Verkada is solving a very real and important challenge in the world right now: safety. We’re building products that make the communities where we live and work safer – an easy-to-use, cloud-based solution that connects video security cameras, access controls, alarms, environmental sensors, intercoms, and workplace management tools together on a single platform that you can access from anywhere.

• How long has your company been in the physical security market?
What started with video security cameras back in 2016 is now six natively integrated product lines, accessible and connected via an easy-to-use cloud software solution. Today, more than 30,000 organizations across 93 countries worldwide, including 91 of the Fortune 500, trust Verkada as their physical security layer for easier management, intelligent control, and scalable deployments.

• Why did you join ONVIF and how long has your company been a member?
We joined ONVIF as a member in August 2024 as we looked to enable Verkada’s interoperability with ONVIF-conformant devices and ensure that our customers could benefit from the open security standards from ONVIF.
• Are there any specific benefits membership brings to your business?
Verkada’s Command platform makes it easy to manage physical security systems at scale. One of the biggest challenges is integrating systems from many different vendors, and the rigorous standards and technical documentation developed by ONVIF simplify and accelerate customers looking to migrate to a cloud-based single pane of glass to manage all of their facilities.
• What is the most exciting part of using ONVIF standards?
Verkada has greatly benefited from the ONVIF community and its standards while testing and validating Profile S conformance for Command Connector. We remain excited about the opportunities this will unlock for organizations who may be looking to migrate to Verkada’s cloud-based platform solution and want to continue to leverage their investment in ONVIF conformant devices.
