What does your company do? What services, or products, do you provide?
OpenEye, the cloud video platform company, provides solutions for video security, business intelligence and loss prevention. Products include cameras, recorders and OpenEye Web Services (OWS), a powerful open platform that combines and analyzes event data from video, Alarm systems, access control, sales transactions and internet of things (IoT) devices and transforms it into actionable insights. OpenEye’s solutions are available globally through a trusted network of certified service providers.

How long has your company been in the physical security market?

Why did you join ONVIF and how long has your company been a member?
A member of ONVIF since 2010, OpenEye is a strong supporter of open standards with a broad and healthy ecosystem of devices able to work with one another across companies. We believe that users should be able to select products from multiple companies to build the solution that works best for their needs.  

To which specific profiles does your company’s products conform, and why is that beneficial to your business?
Profiles S, G, and T. We are able to spend more time developing new and innovative software features instead of chasing complex native interactions with each individual manufacturer in the marketplace. 

What does it mean to you to be a member of ONVIF and what kinds of business impacts have you seen as a result?
OpenEye prides itself in offering an open platform that is easy to install and use, and it shares ONVIF’s commitment to the standardization of communication between IP-based physical security products and interoperability.

By seeing OpenEye as an ONVIF member, our partners are confident to lead with our products knowing we are committed to and offer support for a broad ecosystem of products from other manufacturers and that we will support new products as they come onto the market. 

It also means we have a constantly expanding ecosystem of supported products as new ONVIF-conformant devices are always being released. 

Are there any specific benefits membership brings to your business?
Membership to ONVIF demonstrates OpenEye’s commitment to standardization and openness, and it allows us to build trust and loyalty with channel partners and end users.
